Dear readers its Thursday once again. I hope that you are all ok and as well as you can be.

As you already know I’ve been battling Covid 19 for a while now, it hit me hard just when I thought that I was getting better. It often does this because thats when the secondary illnesses set in.

Once you’ve got over this then the post viral fatigue sets in leaving you incapable of doing much except sleep. The simplest of tasks renders you unable to do anything except sleep.

This is exactly what I’ve been like, sleeping, trying to get things done in the house whilst still getting pains in my chest on and off. The doctor that I saw told me that my lungs are probably scarred and I need to continue to do breathing exercises.

All this said, I haven’t relapsed again and hopefully I wont. I’m trying to do household chores because they need doing and sitting down all the time isn’t good for me either.

I am very wary of pushing myself too much though, easier said than done when your a single parent, but I am very aware that I’ve been very lucky and it could have been much worse.

My life has changed though, I’m now reliant upon food parcels to keep us going. It upsets me to have to say this but its reality and I’m very grateful for the help. It is pretty shit though when you cant go shopping for food etc like you used to.

What I have learnt from this is that life is very fragile and it can be taken away so easily and without warning. That in itself is a very scary thought, especially for someone like me who thought that I was invincible at times. I now know that I’m not and I’m really grateful to be here albeit in much reduced circumstances.

Meanwhile the government believes that its ok to loosen the social distancing rules again, to change the two meter rule and to open up pubs again.

The re opening of the pubs will be good for business but it wont be good for health. I doubt that many people will be thinking that whilst they’re ordering their first pint for a long while that they’ll also be ordering a side order of Covid 19.

To be honest I’m disgusted that the government have seen fit to do this. The mortality rates are rising once again and people are still dying.

I do have a theory about this though, I was discussing this with a friend this morning. The government have been continuing with their herd immunity plans in all but name. They worship at the gods of money and commerce and they want their friends to be profiting from the poor as soon as possible, even when they know that its not safe.

Getting your head around the fact that the government doesn’t care if we become ill or die can be very hard for some because we used to have governments that cared for our well being. Sadly they’re long gone now and wont be returning for a while.

I’m really trying to be positive but there isn’t a lot to be positive about at the moment and once again I urge you to keep safe and still practice social distancing.

The government are now going to pass the blame for the second wave of Covid 19 illnesses and deaths onto the NHS, local governments and ourselves as individuals. This is very worrying because they are to blame for the worsening of this crisis. As individuals we need to keep holding them responsible. We aren’t to blame for this they are and they know it.

On another note it was really good to see that the four women that took the government to court regarding the way that Universal Credit does not recognise that two paydays fell within their assessment periods.

The DWP decided wrongly that they had doubled their salaries in the first month and reduced their benefits by a large amount.

Universal credit does not recognise the fact that some months are longer than others, therefore of course people will get more than one wage every now and then. Sadly the DWP don’t recognise this because they want to reduce a claimants payments as much as possible. Decent common sense doesn’t even enter the equation.

Quite rightly the four incredibly brave women took the DWP to court and it was then that the DWP then waged a two year battle against them, ending in the court of appeal where the DWP lost again.

The DWP like to see people suffer, from my experience they’re quite sadistic in taking revenge upon anyone that decides to complain and appeal against anything.

It would be unwise to think that the government will change anything because of this ruling though, they won’t even commit to giving claimants backdated money on the basis of the court judgement.

The DWP stated that there were “only” 1,500 people affected by this despite the real figures being around 85,000. Expect the judgement to be filed in the same drawer as the ECHR reports are filed.

So what do we do now?

We need to continue to campaign against the evil machine which is Universal Credit.

I will be back outside Ashton under lyne Jobcentre as soon as it re opens.

I will also be continuing to campaign against the governments disgusting handling of the Covid 19 pandemic. I will also continue to share the daily death rates because the government wants us to forget all about it.

Please spare a thought for the disabled man that starved to death because he wasn’t able to access food essentials. 38% of disabled or vulnerable people were unable to get online shopping orders and a further 26% were scared of catching Covid 19 in supermarkets.

I’m afraid to say that this probably wasn’t the only death and it will happen again when the government ends its shielding practice.
